In this film “(un)Flaoting World” depicts a journey of exploring the vast collective world while being an individual distinct from others.
Searching for a shadow symbolises achieving completeness and blending into society.
The key is to keep moving forward, discovering what matters to you, and defining your place in this life time.

I have a deep interest in light and shadow, as they exist in the space between the abstract and the tangible, offering a wide range of imagery. I also draw inspiration from various books and artistic styles.
The first book, "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" by Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, tells the story of a main character is on a quest to retrieve his shadow and return to reality.
In "Skggen", by Hans Christian Andersen, explores themes of identity and power, telling a brutal yet true aspect of human nature.
I looked into the book  "In Praise of Penumbra".  Light and dark are commonly used as metaphors for good and evil, reflecting a dualistic bias in our thinking. However, articles indicate that the connotations of light and dark vary across cultures in terms of images, attitudes, and language. For instance, in Daoism, shadow and light symbolize yin and yang, whose balance creates harmony. In many South American cultures,  shadow links the physical and spiritual worlds.
Another book I read, In Praise of Shadows by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, offers a cultural perspective on shadows, he praises the beauty and elegance in architecture and the philosophical aspects of light and shadow.  Particularly in describing Washitsu (a Japanese-style room), he highlights the beauty found in the gradations of shadows, where subtle light and faint darkness on the walls are more captivating than any decoration. This reminds me of how light in a space can create different meanings, metaphors, balancing atmosphere, and minimalism.
These stories and artworks really got me thinking about the interplay of light and shadow, the struggle of dualities, and the internal division within oneself. They inspire me to explore the diverse qualities of light, with abstract perspective.

Therefor, I set out on this journey.
